Set up welding equipment, execute the planned welds, and examine the welds to ensure that they meet the standards or specifications.

Essential functions and responsibilities:

  1. Perform unusual and difficult welding operations on various types of stainless and carbon steel and possibly ferrous and non-ferrous alloys.

  2. Perform other duties as required by the department.

  3. May be required to work in confined areas and at heights of up to 20 feet.

  4. plan a welding sequence, select electrode type, size, amperage, voltage, and shielding gas required.

  5. operate various types of welding machines, such as TIG, MIG, and Stick. Our processes conform to ASME and AWS specifications.

  6. lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds as required.

Employment Standards

To be successful in this position the candidate must:

  1. understand welding symbols.

  2. be able to read blue prints and work from drawings.

  3. work on your own with minimal supervision and have the initiative to follow through on projects.

  4. be familiar with all safety standards and utilize the required personal protective equipment at all times.

  5. be willing and able to work in any department as required, when production varies.

  6. be willing to work overtime as may be required.

Education and Experience Preferences

  1. A High School Diploma with additional vocational or trade school training

  2. 3 – 5 years previous experience with MIG welding, preferably stainless and carbon steel

  3. Must be able to read blue prints


  1. Good manual dexterity, good eyesight, and good hand-eye coordination.

  2. Willingness to work in confined areas

  3. No height restrictions.
